Review: The Hunger Games

24 children have to fight together in a arena and only one of them can return alive.... 

The Hunger Games is a movie based on a novel from Suzanne Collins. She has already sold almost 200.000 copies in 36 different countries. It took a couple of years, but now we can finally see the movie on the big screen!

I never cry in theaters (okay, except when Dobby died), but when I was watching this movie, the tears rolled over my cheeks. You can't believe that this movie is set in the future; it looks like a scenario from the old Roman times. It’s extremely cruel how two children from every district in North-America are chosen every year, to just kill each other. The rich citizens cheer them on and check them out like they are animals without any feeling.  But, nevertheless, it is a beautiful movie about a girl who tries to save her little sister by volunteering for ‘The Hunger Games’. I won’t spoil the movie for anyone of you who still wants to go see it. So, I will leave the end a surprise. 

What I cán tell is an idiotic little fact. Are you jealous on the beautiful brown hear of Jennifer Lawrence (Katniss Everdeen in the movie)? Well, you should be because it took about €23.000,- to get it this way. The director wanted the perfect color so he let the stylist buy four different kind of wigs,  for €4.600,-  each to find the perfect one. Unfortunately, he didn’t convince Jennifer with his beautiful brown colors, so you will only see here as a blonde now.

Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close

Although we love romantic comedies and other chick flicks, we also can appreciate movies with a serious message. One of those rare movies is Extremely Loud and Incredibly close, which tells the story of the autistic Oskar who loses his father on, as he calls it, 'the worst day': 9/11.

''“Extremely Loud & Incredibly Close” is a story that unfolds from inside the young mind of Oskar Schell, an inventive eleven year-old New Yorker whose discovery of a key in his deceased father’s belongings sets him off on an urgent search across the city for the lock it will open. A year after his father died in the World Trade Center on what Oskar calls “The Worst Day,” he is determined to keep his vital connection to the man who playfully cajoled him into confronting his wildest fears. Now, as Oskar crosses the five New York boroughs in quest of the missing lock – encountering an eclectic assortment of people who are each survivors in their own way – he begins to uncover unseen links to the father he misses, to the mother who seems so far away from him and to the whole noisy, dangerous, discombobulating world around him.''

What we like about this movie is that you not only see the expedition of Oskar, but you also experience this movie as an expedition itself. Piece by piece you get more information about what happened to Oskar's dad at 9/11 and you will come closer and closer to the lock that fits the key. The movie lets you experience one of the thousand stories after that horrible day and it is really touching. We absolutely recommend this movie, 'cause there is so much more to the story than you would think...

Top 3: Best Looks @ The Oscars

Another reason to love sundays: it's always an awardshow day! Last night, the annual academy awards were presented for the 84th time. Biggest winner of the night was the movie The Artist, who received not less than five oscars! Whoaa!

However, what's mostly even more interesting than all of the winners (we still love you Octavia Spencer and Meryl Streep!), are ofcourse all of the beautiful dresses and make-up looks. These were our favourites...

Oscar Sunday

This Sunday you won't get bored, because in about 4 days it is time again for Oscar Sunday! It is already the 84^th time that the Oscars will be held. With categories like 'best movie', 'best actor' and even 'best costumes', you can be stuck on the TV the whole day!

Most important during the Oscars are of course the winners. But we are secretly always more interested in all those beautiful dresses. Last year there was decided that Reese Witherspoon looked one the most beautiful in here black dress. Reese finished here look with $1 million worth of diamond and emerald jewelry.  

But Reese was not the only one with a beautiful dress last year, we also really liked the dresses from Sandra Bullock,Scarlett Johansson and Mila Kunis.

Relive the trip: Titanic 3D

You either absolutely love Titanic, or you never want to waist three hours of your life again on this movie. For the Titanic LOVERS, there is some great news! It took a couple of years, but it is finally going to happen! Titanic is coming back on the big screen! :) 

To see this movie, you just have to wait two more months. The movie’s premiere is on April 4^th, one hundred years after the real ship sunk. So bribe your boyfriend, crush or best friend to go with you and enjoy Leonardo DiCaprio as real as possible. 

If you're going to see this movie, take a extra good look at some of the mistakes in this movie:

-          Jack wins his tickets because he has a full house. When you see Jack’s card, you can see that he would   never ever be able to make a full house.

-         Jack claims that he has visited ‘Santa Monica Pier’. Unfortunately for Jack, this did not exist until 1916, four years after the Titanic sunk.

-         When you are paying very close attention to Rose’s fingernails, you can see that the length of them change throughout the movie.
